Many teacher certification tests administered by Pearson include constructed-response items which require the examinees to provide written, oral, or videotaped responses. These responses are scored following each test administration by qualified educators, using the process of focused holistic scoring and following rigorous, standardized procedures.
Scoring sessions are held frequently throughout the year at the Pearson scoring facility, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. Several weeks prior to each scoring session, selected scoring participants are contacted (typically via email) to participate in scoring. Individuals participating in scoring sessions are typically requested to commit to one to three working days, depending on the test field and number of responses to be scored. Details about specific dates, times, and test field(s) will be included in invitations to qualified scorers. Orientation to the scoring process is incorporated into each scoring session.
